Sleepy Hollow Trip

Camp in lean-tos in the Catskills with archery and sky lift to the top of Hunter Mountain. Take a hike on the awe inspiring Escarpment Trail and get drenched under the infamous Katterskill Falls!

Mountain Bike Day Trip

Hit the dirt with mountain bikes at the Six Mile Run Reserve.  Over 10 miles of new fun and challenging trails added in the past year.

Annual “Adventure” Campout

Man vs. Wild is this year’s theme.  Are you tough enough to survive?

Annapolis Trip

Camp on Wye Island on Chesapeake Bay.  See the Navy Midshipmen in action in a football game and tour the Naval Academy.

First Aid Rally

Test your patrol’s teamwork and skills as you compete in this annual district triage.

Curling

Learn how to play this Olympic sport and popular winter pastime at the Curling Club of Plainfield.

Jack Frost Ski Trip

Return to the troop’s favorite resort.  Ski or board with lessons available in the Pocono Mountains. Families are welcome!

Stony Point Winter Cabin Trip

Sledding, snow shoeing, night stalking and other fun winter activities at this Hudson Valley scout camp.

Feb. 27

Klondike Trail

Teamwork, skills, and your sled will get you through this annual patrol winter challenge where you compete against 30 other patrols from troops across our district.

Blue Mountain Ski Trip

Another troop favorite:  ski, board or tube at this great Pennsylvania resort.  Lessons available; troop families always welcome.

Exploring, rifle shooting, scout skills and fun games.

Princeton University Lacrosse Game and Guided Campus Tour

Watch the fastest game on two feet at this perennial Div. I powerhouse.  Afterwards, tour the beautiful campus of this local bastion of higher learning.

Loyalsock Campout / Hike Pennsylvania

Camp in a great canyon!  Hike the Vista Trail with fantastic views.  Pass waterfalls and boulder in many terrific spots, including the Labyrinth.

Hershey Park and Bike Trip

Visit the Historic Cornwall Iron Works, bike a scenic 17 mile rail-to-trail, and have a blast at the sweetest amusement park in America!

Farmington River Kayak 

Camp and swim in a beautiful CT state forest and kayak the scenic river through farmland and valleys.  Exciting  rapids for all but our youngest scouts.

Cool off and experience the thrills at this fun New Jersey water park!

Use your imagination to plan a special outing/trip for your patrol.  The possibilities are endless.

Hidden Valley Summer Camp

Return to this beautiful, traditional New Hampshire Scout Reservation.  Highlights include boating, swimming, shooting sports, merit badges and the Mt. Shannon Outpost.  Valley Voyageur or Spoke for our older scouts.

Sept. 25-26

Sandy Hook Oceanography and Deep Sea Fishing

Camp right by the beach!  Check out Fort Hancock, Sandy Hook Light House and other sites.  Earn the Oceanography Merit Badge and go deep sea fishing off the deck of a private charter boat!

Oct. 15-17

Annual “Adventure” Campout

Camp and compete as patrols at Teetertown Ravine.  What theme will the scouts pick this year?

Nov. 7

Mountain Bike Day Trip

Take a heart pounding autumn ride on a nearby trail.  Learn a new technique.  Challenge yourself!

Baltimore Submarine Trip

Camp and cook on board the USS Torsk, visit Fort McHenry and other Inner Harbor sights.  Explore awesome weaponry at Aberdeen Proving Ground’s Ordnance Museum.

Use your skills to best the competition at Raritan Valley District’s annual triage.

Rockville Climbing Center

Escarpment Trail Backpack Trek

Backpack the awesome Catskill trail with sheer cliffs overlooking the Hudson Valley in New York. Boulder and go for a swim at Katterskill Falls!

Terror Behind the Walls

A Halloween Fright Feast like no other - locked in the Eastern States Penitentiary.  This is rated the best haunted house in the entire USA!

Mountain Bike Trip

Spend the afternoon at an advanced trail refining your skills with heart pounding challenges.

Shotgun

Spend the day shooting clay pigeons at a local gun club

Catskills Snow Trek

Snowshoe deep into the Catskills Wilderness and spend the night in a snow shelter you built.

Vermont Ski Weekend

Spend two nights in a private lodge. Ski or board for the two days at Killington – one of New England’s premier destinations!

Ice Climbing

Ice pick your way to the top of a frozen waterfall with professional guides and full ice climbing gear.  Date TBD based on temperature and ice coverage.

Philmont Crew Day Hike

Sourlands Mtn Reserve

A Philmont Crew training run with full backpack and 8 miles of challenging hills and boulders in the Sourlands Mountain Park.

April 16-18

Loyalsock Canyon Backpack Trek

Backpack the Canyon Vista and Loyalsock trails in the Worlds End State Park in North Central PA.  The trail is rugged with steep drop offs, but the exposed canyon routes open to phenomenal views.  Side trips for bouldering and many waterfalls and swimming holes if your dare.

April 30 - May 2

Watchu Weekend

Philmont Crew will participate in the council’s shakedown at Allamuchy Scout Reservation.

May 1-2

Bike NY Tour

Camp Saturday night in Staten Island.  Sunday Bike the 5 boroughs of New York City on this great 50-mile tour.  All roads closed to traffic just for you and 30,000 other bikers.  See the entire New York City from a different perspective via roads and bridges not normally open to bike travel.

Philmont Crew Day Hike

Round Valley Rec Area

A second Philmont Crew training run with full backpack and 10 miles of cross country and step climbs at the Round Valley Recreation Area.

Venture Kayak

While the rest of the Troop Kayaks the flats of the lower Farmington River the Ventures will experience level 2 white water further upstream and take an advanced whitewater clinic learning the Eskom/Combat Roll.

July 12

Philmont 2010

Take a plane out to Colorado and visit the sites get acclimated to the elevation before starting the 11 day trek through the Scout Ranch that is in the Southern Rockies in New Mexico.  Unbelievable scenery and high adventure activities at each day’s destination!

White Water & Biking Expedition

A Venture challenge for 8 days like no other.  Bike 340 miles on perfectly flat trails from Pittsburg, PA to Washington D.C., camping along the way and stopping for 4 extreme white water challenges, Class 2-3 Kayaking, Class 2 Daggers,  Class 3-4 self guided rafting  and Class 4-5 guided rafting.  Also visit National Parks, forts, battlefields, historic towns and numerous natural wonders.

Aug. 1-7

Hidden Valley/Camp Bell Spoke Program

While the rest of the Troop is in scout camp, experience high adventure activities like Rock Climbing, Kayaking and one night backpacking trips.  Spend some nights in Camp and some nights in the backcountry.

Downhill Mountain Biking

All day downhill mountain biking.  Take the chairlift to the top of a ski slope then ride down.   No peddling, just hold on to your handle bars and brakes and prepare for a wild ride.
